00:00:01- *APPLAUSE*

00:00:03- Dennis Duce: Welcome back! It’s another week of-

00:00:06- Ryan Minor: Pawn Boys.

00:00:08- Dennis Duce: Pawn Boys. We got the man right here.

00:00:12- Ryan Minor: How’re you guys doing? I’m glad to see ya! I can’t actually see you, I wish I could.

00:00:17- Dennis Duce: Yeah.

00:00:17- Ryan Minor: What are you sportin’ this week?

00:00:19- Dennis Duce: I have on a pair of Rayband wire rims.

00:00:22- Ryan Minor: Kinda like John Lennon style.

00:00:24- Dennis Duce: A little, yeah, they’re a little more tear-dropped than John Lennon’s. His were more perfectly round. But they certainly have a nod towards John Lennon.

00:00:33- Ryan Minor: Excellent. I think those are Orbs(?), aren’t they?

00:00:37- Dennis Duce: Are they? I’d have to look at my cell phone to tell for sure. You know you can never see your cell phone screen when you’ve got polarized on?

00:00:42- Ryan Minor: I got the little P on there, so.

00:00:43- Dennis Duce: Oh do they? Polarized. What Are you askin for these boys?

00:00:47- Ryan Minor: Um, I’d probably be 80$ on those for a set of Rayband, authentic Rayband polarized.

00:00:52- Dennis Duce: You got 144 on these! hese are 209 normally.

00:00:57- Ryan Minor- Yup. SOmebody came in with 80$ cash, they’re yours.

00:01:00- Dennis DUce: 80$ cash, that’s like 50% off of what you’re actually asking.

00:01:03- Ryan Minor- They’re new, no scratches. I dont’ have the box or anything, but you could come up with something like that by yourself. I’m sure.

00:01:12- Dennis Duce: Come check these out, they look great on me.

00:01:13- Ryan Minor: I look like a fly wearing these, these are great though.

00:00:15- Dennis Duce: Those are really great.

00:01:18- Ryan Minor: Ralph Lauren, they even got the little do not remove or they’ll spray you paint thing on the sides, so. Anyway, they’re too big for my head, and I’ve kinda got a big head. I’m sure they would look good on someone.

00:01:33- Dennis Duce: Someone.

00:01:34- Ryan Minor: Yeah, so, just not me.

00:01:35- Dennis Duce: If you’re really into the fashion thing more than the name brand thing, these will work for ya.

00:01:40- Ryan Minor: Just an example of some of the name brand styles and glasses that we have. Lots and lots to choose from!

00:01:50- Dennis Duce: Lots to choose from. We got an outdoor camera, we don’t know how long it will stay on.

00:01:54- Ryan Minor- That’s a pretty good shot of the door outside of my store there.

00:01:56- Dennis Duce: Yeah, that’s pretty cool! Right here in Midvale.

00:01:59- Ryan Minor: That’s what I’ll look for on the outside, if you’re passing by, that’s what it looks like.

00:02:02- Dennis Duce: Yup. Cash in a flash.

00:02:05- Ryan Minor: Absolutely. And that’s true, you come in here with something nice. It’s all cash, we don’t write checks, it’s just cash. So, greenbacks.

00:02:16- Dennis Duce: Green backs.

00:02:16- Ryan Minor: Green backs.

00:02:17- Dennis Duce: This is a green back business.

00:02:19- Ryan Minor: Absolutely.

00:02:20- Dennis Duce: And I’ve watched you do it too. I have. The reason we got that outdoor camera, we are hoping, crossing our fingers, we have, on the charger right now, what is that boy?

00:02:32- RYan Minor- It’s a 2005 Yamaha YZF 450 quad.

00:02:39- Dennis Duce: We’re gonna take it for a ride, just get it started.

00:02:40- Ryan Minor: It runs great, it’s just that the batterie’s-

00:02:45- Dennis Duce: Finicky.

00:02:46- Ryan Minor: Yeah, it’s not-

00:02:47- Dennis Duce: He’ll be replacing the battery, so, you know. Don’t worry about that if we don’t get it started. I have heard it run.

00:02;54- Ryan Minor: One of the many things we have for sale down here.

00:02:56- Dennis Duce: One of the many things, and we’re hoping we can kick it over and if we can both kick it over, we’re gonna take it for a ride.

00:03:02-Ryan Minor: Absolutely.

00:03:02- Hey, you didn’t tell me I could take it for a ride.

00:03:04- Ryan Minor: You can.

00:03:05- Right on! We’re both gonna take it for a ride!

00:03:08- Ryan Minor: You bet.

00:03:08- Dennis Duce: Good deal. So,

00:03:11- Ryan Minor: WInter sport stuff, we’ve kinda highlighted some different things today. THese are some backcountry fat skis. These are made by Bluehouse, which is a local company. This is a local company that makes these things.

00:03:34- Dennis Duce: Look at that head shot, isn’t that cool?

00:03:35- Ryan Minor: That is awesome dude. That is awesome. Sold!

00:03:38- Dennis Duce: SOLD!

00:03:41- Ryan Minor- Yeah, if you don’t wanna buy these skis from that picture alone, (?). Anyway, it’s a local company that makes these skis, They’re a world renowned company, but they make them locally here. For these set of skis, you might expect to pay, brand new for bindings and everything, up towards 800$. If you were to go buy them brand new. Not here, not even close. You could come down here and probably pay about 150$-175$ for these bad boys. They are in good condition, they do have some cosmetic stuff on the top of these things.

00:04:24- Dennis Duce: The bottoms look good.

00:04:25- Ryan Minor: Oh the bottoms are great, so, that’s the best part about it. That’s the most important part, right?

00:04:31- Dennis Duce- Yeah! Depends how pretty they are. If you care how pretty they are you don’t really ski,

00:04:36- Ryan Minor- Hopefully these things don’t fall down on us.

00:04:38- Dennis Duce- You know what, let’s set these in that corner over there so that they don’t. That would not be good.

00:04:42- Ryan Minor: Anyway, I do like skis, I do have skis for sale, kind of a weird things here, besides

00:04:55- Ryan Minor: Hopefully those don’t fall over and knock me out. We do take skis here, I’m really picky with what I take in, they’ve gotta be something kind of similar to what these are, I don’t take any of the old stuff. If you’ve got old skis, take them to the DI. Don’t bring them down here.

00:05:11- Dennis Duce: You don’t want my MBX’s from-

00:05:12- Ryan Minor: from 1986?

00:05:16- Dennis DUce: Um, ‘96.

00:05:17- Ryan Minor: Oh, okay, yeah, still no.

00:05:22- Dennis Duce; They’re purple and yellow man!

00:05:23- Ryan Minor: It’s got a cool color scheme, but for some reason we live in ski meca, or for some reason skis are a top sale here, so they kinda gotta be spot on. Newer style, name brand, excellent condition stuff, so. If you’ve got that type of deal, bring ‘em down, we give cash for those too. Something similar to these.

00:05:44- Dennis Duce: You’re looking for quality, come on down.

00:05:46- Ryan Minor- Absolutely.

00:05:47- Dennis Duce: Hey, if you have a desire to go, like, have you seen that video of that guy surfing in water skis?

00:05:57- Uh uh, I haven’t seen that.

00:05:58- Dennis Duce: Yeah, these are wide enough to do that, if, you know.

00:06:02- Ryan Minor: He was surfing on something similar to these?

00:06:03- Dennis DUce: Yeah, he get’s-

00:06:04- Ryan Minor: Ski boots and all?

00:06:05- Dennis Duce: Ski boots, the whole deal, he got towed out there with a jet ski in order to, you know. He couldn’t swim to get up to speed, right.

00:06:15- Ryan Minor: Right.

00:06:15- Dennis Duce: SO he gets towed out there and then drops in- and the waves have to be big big BIG bad boy waves.

00:06:22- Ryan Minor: Is he doing it like in Hawaii, or…?

00:06:24- Dennis Duce: I didn’t notice where he was doing it, but yeah, it’s kinda- so these are wide enough, if that’s like your thing.

00:06:30- Ryan Minor- You know, if a big storm kicks up on the great salt lake, there you go.

00:06:35- Dennis Duce: There you go.

00:06:38- Ryan Minor: You’d be one of the first, so, um, snowshoes!

00:06:43- Dennis Duce: I noticed these this morning, these ones and the other ones. We gotta point out the snowshoes.

00:06:49- Ryan Minor: We’re kinda highlighting the winter sports thing here today. So, a lot of people really love snowshoeing. If you’ve never done it before, it might just sound like walking, and it is walking I guess, but-

00:07:05- Dennis Duce: Hey, the postal guy is outside.

00:07:06- Ryan Minor: Oh.

00:07:08- Dennis Duce: Isn’t that kinda cool? Hey postal guy!

00:07:10- Ryan Minor- Yeah, he needs to come take my package. Oh, I already took them, that’s why I was late this morning. Anyway, this is a great family activity, that you can get a workout with.

00:07:22- Dennis Duce: Oh yeah!

00:07:23- Ryan Minor: And Utah has got phenomenal places to go snowshoeing. These are Redfeather snowshoes, name brand, something you might find at REI for upwards of 80-100$. Here, you’re gonna be around 60$. They’re a little dusty. oo, again, great shot. See that guys, that name brand right there, Red Feather. Good stuff, good stuff.

00:07:54-Dennis Duce: What I’m really trying to show off is how they have like the big spike things.

00:08:01- Ryan Minor: Man, I’m telling ya, that would hurt.

00:08:04- Dennis Duce: You know, a kung fu kick from these, and you’re not feeling very good.

00:08:07- Ryan Minor: You’re down, you’re down, for the count.

00:08:09- Dennis Duce: For the count.

00:08:11- Ryan Minor: If you wanted to use these as a self defense mechanism, I guess you could buy those for that as well. Anyway, I’ve got a couple of pairs of these Red Feathers, one’s hanging on the wall there, I think I’ve got two or three pairs in the back. *TO MAILMAN* Around there, just set it right there for me. I appreciate it. You got any small stuff for me today or no? No, that’s it?

00:08:38- Mailman: That’s it.

00:08:38- Ryan Minor: Thanks bud. Something, huh? Thank you!

00:08:48- Dennis Duce: So you think we need permission from the post office to watch him walk out here?

00:08:50- Ryan Minor: Oo, that’s a great shot of him man. That’s their logo right there too. I dunno man, they could have Uncle Sam after us pretty quick.

00:09:06- Dennis Duce: Yeah, I’m sure.

00:09:09- That’s the least of the postal services problems, I’m telling you right there.

00:09:12- Dennis Duce: Yes.

00:09:15- Ryan Minor: Um, snowshoes, skis, I’ve got snowboards, we didn’t pull a snowboard out but I’ve got plenty of snowboards, boots, man, if you’re looking to save some money, don’t go buy it new before you come down here and check out what we’ve got used, I mean you might not find exactly what you’re looking for, but at least come down and check it out! WHat have you got!

00:09:35- Dennis Duce: Okay so this is not summer stuff, are you guys ready for this? Up she goes!

00:09:42- Dude, you are He-Man.

00:09:47- Dennis Duce: Get a load of those. They would look really good on my volvo.

00:09:50- Ryan Minor: 24-inch wheels, custom wheels, the tires are all good on these as well, which is not very common.

00:10:00- Dennis Duce: You gotta see these treads, they’re in like perfect condition.

00:10:04- Ryan Minor: Awesome. All the tires are just the same.

00:10:06- Dennis Duce: Heavy.

00:10:01- Ryan Minor- Those’ll fit any, you know, JM model.

00:10:10- Dennis Duce: So you’re talking like Escalade,

00:10:13- RYan Minor: Escalades, a suburban, that type of thing.

00:10:16- Dennis Duce: Pick-up truck, ukon,

00:10:20- Ryan Minor: What do you think the side of those cost?

00:10:24- Dennis Duce: Oh, um,

00:10:24- Ryan Minor: Wheels and tires, both.

00:10:27- Dennis Duce: 6? 5-6 thousand?

00:10:28- Ryan Minor: Maybe. Yeah, you might be able to find a good deal for 4. What do you think it costs here?

00:10:38- Dennis Duce: I’ll pay you 25 bucks for them.

00:10:43- Ryan Minor: Why not? Hey, you know what? Make offers man, I don’t get offended by anything. You could come down and get those for 1000$.

00:10:52- Dennis Duce: No way!

00:10:53- Ryan Minor: 1000$.

00:10:54- Dennis Duce: I can’t get regular tires for my volvo, TIRES, for that.

00:10:57- Ryan Minor: Yeah, yeah, just tires.

00:10:58- Dennis Duce: And these are completely brand new,

00:11:03- Ryan Minor: They still have the little rubbery things hanging off of them.

00:11:05- Dennis Duce: Yeah, yeah, I got it. I dunno if I can show you this.

00:11:08- Ryan Minor: Yeah, you don’t have to go the the gym today, by the way.

00:11:11- Dennis Duce: So, can you see they got the little rubbery doohickey things on the sides still. They’re not on the bottom, but you know what.

00:11:18- Ryan Minor: Can you just stand there and hold that for about 5 minutes more?

00:11:22- Dennis Duce: So, actually, speaking of working out, I gotta promote one of my new shows.

00:11:25- Ryan Minor- Okay.

00:11:26- Dennis Duce: This Saturday we’re doing a really cool show, live from my house. My wife, for the last year, has had a personal trainer who specializes in coming to your house and training you without any equipment.

00:11:41- Ryan Minor: Cool.

00:11:41- Dennis Duce: Last Saturday I did it for the first time, no equipment at all.

00:11:45- Ryan Minor: Just your butt?(?)

00:11:47- Dennis Duce: My lats and pecs are killing me. But yeah, Saturday, 10:30-

00:11:52- Ryan Minor: So he comes to your house-

00:11:53- Dennis Duce: He comes to your house and he trains you. His name’s James Williams, and his company is Top Jimmy Certified personal trainers.

00:12:02- Ryan Minor: Sounds expensive.

00:12:04- Dennis Duce: It’s actually not that expensive, I can’t remember what it is but I think it’s like 150$ for 8 sessions or something like that, he comes once a week.

00:12:12- Ryan Minor: I don’t know that you can get that at the gym.

00:12:14- Dennis Duce: You can’t. And you can tune in for free. He can also train you at a gym. He has a membership to every gym in the Salt Lake Valley.

00:12:23- Ryan Minor: Does he-

00:12:24- Dennis Duce: So he can train you at the gym.

00:12:25- Ryan Minor: Okay, so it doesn’t matter what gym you belong to.

00:12:27- Dennis Duce: No, if you want it, but I dunno why you would do it. After the workout he gave me without equipment, I don’t know why I’d go to a gym.

00:12:33- Ryan Minor: Well, if you don’t need equipment, you’ve got a little bit of room in your house. People do yoga and stuff in their living room anyway, right?

00:12:42- Dennis Duce: Yeah, so, tune in, hangout on air, live work out, me and my wife getting our butts kicked, 10:30, Saturday morning.

00:12:49- Ryan Minor: I’ll be there. I will be there.

00:12:51- Dennis Duce: Yeah, sign up, watch it, it’ll be fun. So, anyway, plug in one of my new shows.

00:12:58- Ryan Minor: Awesome. Shall we try to get this four-wheel started?

00:13:01- Dennis Duce: Let’s give this thing another kick.

00:13:02- Ryan Minor: Okay, alright. I’m gonna go see if we can get this thing started.

00:13:06- Dennis Duce: I’m gonna talk Beats Audio while you run and get it started.

00:13:09- Ryan Minor: Are those new?

00:13:09- Dennis Duce: These are in the package, look at this! Plastic still on them, what are these runnin’?

00:13:16- Ryan Minor: Um, are those the studios or the solos?

00:13:20- Dennis Duce: These are the solos. For an Iphone, Ipad.

00:13:24- Ryan Minor: You could use those for anything, 120$

00:13:28- Dennis Duce: 120$. What are these- brand new.

00:13:32- Ryan Minor: 220$ in the store.

00:13:34- Dennis Duce: Brand new. I’m tellin ya, these are awesome. If you’re looking for some nice headphones, gotta check those out. *WAITS A WHILE THEN IMITATES CAR NOISES*

00:14:04- Dennis Duce: Oh boy! *MORE CAR NOISES* Oh listen to that, come on! Don’t get my heart going for nothing! Wow!

00:14:21- Ryan Minor: Let’s give it one more shot here.

00:14:23- Dennis Duce: Give it one more shot, let me grab a helmet just in case we need it buddy.

00:14:41- Dennis Duce: So, male black hat(?), white helmet, beauty here. Don’t know the price on it, but we’re gonna use it in case he can get this beast running.

00:17:44- Dennis Duce: OH NO!

00:18:39- Ryan Minor: Wanna do it?

00:18:40- Dennis Duce: Give it back!

00:20:11- Dennis Duce: That thing’s a beast! I think I had that on camera the whole time. Yeah, I did.

00:20:19- Ryan Minor: Alright!

00:20:22- Dennis Duce: Aw man, that was a riot!

00:20:23- Ryan Minor: I’m so glad that started up.

00:20:29- Dennis Duce: Alright, so what are we asking for that beast?

00:20:31- Ryan Minor: 2000$.

00:20:32- Dennis Duce: 2000$?

00:20:33- Ryan Minor- Yup.

00:20:33- Dennis Duce: What are ya thinking new?

00:20:36- Ryan Minor: 4500$, maybe. 5000$?

00:20:40- Dennis Duce: 2005?

00:20:41- Ryan Minor: Yup. So, *to customer* Uh, 2.50 on that one.

00:20:46- Dennis Duce: Alright man! Well, thank you so much for tuning in to Pawn Boys.

00:20:50- RYan Minor: Thank you.

00:20:51- Dennis Duce: We had a riot this week.

00:20:52- Ryan Minor: It was fun.

00:20:53- Dennis Duce: Are we gonna do an on site next week?

00:20:55- We’re gonna try to do on the side with these cannons I have, we’re gonna try shooting these cans off live so you can see how they work.

00:21:02- Dennis Duce: That’ll be really cool if we can pull it together. So, we may not be in the pawn shop next week.

00:21:07- RYan Minor: It’ll be on location.

00:21:08- Dennis DUce: It’ll be on location, so, we’re gonna shoot for something new, something different always pushing the boundaries here. GOmboc, Pawn Boys,

00:21:14- RYan Minor: Absolutely. Thanks for joining us, it was a fun show.

00:21:17- Dennis Duce: It was a really fun show! Thanks for tuning in, and don’t forget to come down, check out Pawn Boys, if you are looking to sell something, you’re looking to buy something at a discount, this guy rocks.

00:21:27- Ryan Minor: Absolutely.

00:21:28- Dennis Duce: Thanks for watching!

00:21:29- Ryan Minor: Thank you!

5 Key Ideas to Improve Your Utah Events WebPresence/Online Image

Search COntrol Utah Booth at the Great Salt Lake Business Expo 2013, Utah SEO, SEO Utah, Online Image Management, Web Presence

By Dennis N. Duce Search Consultant for Search Control Utah

Salt Lake City, Utah

Make Your Utah Event Shine Online With These Five Tips

1. Create an Online Webinar or Google+ Hangout to Train Attendees
2. Create and Promote a Show Specific Hashtag
3. Blog Like You Love It!
4. Get Google Authorship Linked to Your Blog
5. So the Event is Over? Keep Promoting!

Promotion of you event is crucial. You need to use every angle you can from Web sites, Micro sites and Micro Blogs and training for those who attend promoting upcoming events to pictures, tweets and Facebook posts during the event and of course follow up posts and interaction after the event wraps. The key to a hugely successful event is training planners to get online content seen by as many relevant eyeballs as possible. Here are five strategies to improve interaction, increase activity by those who attend and get more free publicity for your next event.

1. Create an Online Webinar to Train Attendees

Creating an online Webinar/Training has become easier with the development of Google+ Hangouts. The added benefit of a Hangout is that it helps all of those who are going to be active in your next Utah event to be in your Google+ Circles which is one more layer of social interaction. The point of the Webinar is to help your active partners to understand how to use the tools you will be providing to promote their involvement in the upcoming show as well as the show itself. Many times we are too busy “working our booth” to meet the other businesses and Network. Social media is a great way to get to know the other members of the show so we can “work our Booth” during the show. This Webinar should be no more than 30 minutes (plus an open question time) and should run about 1 month before your show.

2. Create & Promote a Show Specific Hashtag

“Engagement with your sponsors, attendees and participants is key to increasing traffic at your show.,” said Chad Chiniquy, C.E.O. of Search Control, a Web Presence, Online Image, and Social Media Management Provider that can make the most out of the interactions at your next show. “Creating a sponsored Hashtag and promoting it early, often and everywhere will increase the your Social Media Impact. Your guests will feel a need to be a part of the Group-Share which helps them feel more engaged in the party. Take lots of pictures and provide a single location that is open for EVERYONE to share This simple task can increase web traffic with a 150% spike. Find a local Magazine, Blog, Charity or Newsletter with a large following to increase and amplify your event’s reach.”
(Here are five ways to select the best event hashtag and 10 ways to promote it at the event.)

3. Blog Like You Love It!

Blogging is a great way to keep your web site’s content fresh content continually appears for Web crawlers to index. Dennis Duce recommends you create a blog on your web site and a micro blog off site and you add something at least once a week to each.Dennis found this great tip on another blog! “Write a blog post about every single question that a potential attendee might have, with the question as the title of the post, appearing in the page content and again as keywords and metadata. Your chances of appearing at the top of the search results go up when someone types that question into a search engine,” says Building Blocks Social Media’s Elizabeth Glau, citing a tip from the Sales Lion’s Marcus Sheridan. “It also makes your organization appear helpful when you answer questions your potential attendees have.”

4. Get Google Authorship Linked to Your Blog

Google has made it possible to connect your blog to your Google+ account. This helps give a personal touch to your posts and increases your page rank as well as your conversion.

Search Control has a great article on Google Authorship. “The process (of connecting Google+ to your Blog) adds a more human touch to the search rankings. People are naturally drawn to images over plain text.  Basic human psychology shows that people feel more comfortable getting information from an actual person rather than an anonymous source. This means that even if you rank lower down on the page, your listing with an author image may get more clicks than the listings that rank higher.”

5. So the Event is Over? Keep Promoting!

This is a great time to grow your online image and Web Presence. You have plenty of  pictures, quotes and video USE THEM to keep your attendees and partners engaged. This will help grow your brand and increase your Online Image as you prepare for the next event. “I call it the post-event event,” says Hindman. “Empower press to write about your event with photos and mouthwatering tweets.”

When you continue to engage your audience through the year you will keep your Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and other social media pages active so you will not have to work so hard to build your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for your next event.

“SEO is Dead! What’s Next?” Presentation to the Park City Board of Realtors

Another Great Presentation on WebPresence by Dennis N. Duce of Search Control

Okay I get it, it is not cool to toot your own horn. Well the truth is I am not! We had 31 people in the room for “SEO is Dead! What’s Next?” at the Park City Broad of Realtors office today of those 27 people filled out the Evaluation form supplied by the Board of Realtors.

Here are a few of the comments:

“Clear, simple steps. Easy to understand”

“Wasn’t Long Enough”

“Very Engaging Instructor!”

“Super Helpful”

“great instructor & fun! Thank you for great ideas”

“great class! Needs to be a 3 HR Class”

“Useful +entertaining”

“Content Presented Well”

“I would take another course then gave all of her personal contact info.”

“Very helpful”

“Very Good-Informative”

“Need a few more-“Do This” in each 5 areas for people who don’t understand technology.”

On this last comment if you check out the information on the custom Web Page I wrote as class notes you will se that the “Do this” items are part of the hand outs. “SEO is Dead! What’s Next?” Park City Board of Realtors WebPresence Training by Dennis Duce of Search Control.

Now How Good Was My Training to the Board of Realtors? Just Check Out These Numbers!

Was the information relevant to the industries? 100% said YES!

Was the course delivered as advertised? 100% said YES!

Would you take another course from this instructor? 100% said YES! One doubled circled it and added an exclamation mark after. adding the comment “Very Engaging Instructor!”

How would you rate the instructor overall? Average score 5.08 on a scale of 0-6 (You might ask why 0-6 and not 1-5? The scale was really Low  1 2 3 4 5  High. Nine people circled the High instead of the 5 so I calculated the data on a 0-6 scale.)
